West Fargo Fire Department

TRAVEL ALERT: Eastbound traffic on I-94 is significantly backed up due to a multiple car accident near Veterans Boulevard. We are working to open one lane of traffic now, but please expect delays and avoid this area if possible at this time.

EDIT: One lane of traffic is now restored. The WFFD is no longer working in the area, but the West Fargo Police Department is still there. Thank you for your cooperation.

West Fargo Fire Department

Contest time: With this years recent snow, we have seen many hydrants covered, which can take extra time to clear during a potential fire. We would like to see videos or pictures of before and after you clearing a hydrant, for a chance to win a West Fargo Fire Department tumbler. We will be drawing names weekly until cups run out.

The only rule is that you must be a West Fargo resident and list your neighborhood.

Please send photos via Facebook message to the West Fargo Fire Department page.

Here is an example of our first winner!

There will be no before for our address 1090 Parkway Dr West Fargo because this hydrant has never been covered in snow since we moved into the house in 2013! We also have a flag extender on it. It's just what we are suppose to do. Keep the hydrant free and clear for the Firemen. Thank you for all you do! 🚒⚒️

Samantha Anne lets do this! We just have to remember where the fire hydrant is at. 🤔

Chris Ternes Too bad you didn't take a before pic...

Jason Mehring

Recreational Fire Guidelines

• Recreational fires cannot be located within 25 feet of a structure (including decks and fences) or other combustible material unless they are in a approved container designed for this purpose, such as a screened appliance.

• Approved containers shall be at least 15 feet from structures.

• Any condition that could cause a fire to spread within 25 feet of a structure needs to be eliminated before lighting the fire.

• The fire cannot be more than three feet in diameter and must be two feet or less in height.

• All recreational fires must be constantly attended until the fire is extinguished.

• Do not burn anything other than dry wood.

• Any recreational fire that will be offensive or objectionable due to smoke or odor emissions is prohibited.

• A fire extinguisher or a garden hose must be available for immediate use.

• Be a good neighbor and don't use a recreational fire on breezy days that will spread the smoke through the neighborhood.
